🇲🇺 Stand for Equality, Not Division , All Religions Deserve Respect and Fair Treatment
Since the beginning of the new political mandate on 12 November, many citizens especially from the Hindu community have been voicing concerns about rising religious inequality and neglect. Unfortunately, this pattern has been noticed every time certain political figures with biased agendas come into power. It’s not about religion versus religion it’s about fair and equal treatment for all.
📌 Examples of Ongoing Issues:
• Hindu temples and cultural centers are being underfunded, boycotted, or even dismantled, with very little explanation or support.
• Churches, such as the one in New Grove, are forced to raise their own renovation funds due to lack of public support.
• Meanwhile, mosques are reportedly being built or renovated with luxurious features, and special exemptions (such as for airline tickets) are being offered to specific religious pilgrimages. Why are other faiths being left behind when it comes to state support and recognition?
🏛️ Political Alliances and Religious FavoritismFor decades, some political groups have built their power base on communal alliances, relying heavily on the support of specific minority communities to counterbalance the Hindu majority. This political tactic dates back to pre- and post-independence, and it’s still affecting how public resources and opportunities are distributed today. We see this in:
• Appointments to key government posts that often favor certain communities.
• Policy decisions that benefit specific groups while neglecting others.
• Religious favoritism, visible in how funds, land, permits, and support are allocated.Let’s be clear: Every religion Hinduism, Christianity, Islam, and others must be treated equally. No citizen should feel like a second-class citizen in their own country.
🙏 What We Are Demanding:
• Equal funding and maintenance support for all religious institutions.
• Equal pilgrimage benefits, such as exemptions and travel support, for Hindus going to Kedarnath or Ram Mandir, Christians visiting the Vatican or Notre Dame, and others.
• Transparency in government policies that affect religious and cultural affairs.
• Ministers and leaders who serve every citizen equally, without favoring their own religion or political base.We voted for the betterment of our country and its people, not for communal politics that divide us and create injustice. We are one nation with many cultures, and it’s time we start acting like it.
Let’s stand together and say:No to division. Yes to equality. No to religious so favoritism. Yes to unity.
