After a hiatus due to organisational issues, Dharmic Times is back up. While previously, the struggle to bring a united dharmic voice for Mauritians was a lonely battle, the recent events in Mauritius and around the world have forced several organisations to come together to voice out the issues of the Dharmic community in Mauritius.

Ganga Talao

Voicing the Truth. Upholding Dharma. Uniting the Hindu Spirit.

In the heart of the Indian Ocean lies Mauritius—a land once celebrated as a rainbow nation, where cultures, communities, and faiths coexisted in harmony. For generations, the Hindu community has stood as a pillar of this peaceful coexistence, rooted in the timeless values of Sanatana Dharma: truth, compassion, self-discipline, and universal respect.

But in recent years, the Hindu ethos has been increasingly tested.

From the political arena to the media landscape. From the streets of our towns to the social media platforms that shape public opinion. Hindu voices are being sidelined, our values caricatured, our temples disrespected, and our leaders defamed. The peaceful majority, who have long refrained from sectarian division, now find themselves painted as the very thing they never aspired to be: intolerant, outdated, or privileged.

Globally, the same trend continues. In democracies once seen as havens for pluralism, Hindus are attacked for wearing their faith, speaking their language, or celebrating their festivals. In countries like Pakistan and Bangladesh, ancient temples are razed and communities erased. Yet the world remains silent. Too often indifferent to Hindu suffering, too eager to downplay the legitimacy of our identity.

Dharmic Times rises from this silence.

We are not here to inflame, but to inform. Not to divide, but to unite. This portal is the voice of every mandir, every Arya Samaj sabha, every Baithka, every Hindu student, parent, swami, teacher, farmer, and worker who still believes in Dharma—not just as religion, but as righteous living, just governance, and truth-based journalism.

We will highlight the concerns of our community—without fear, favour, or compromise. Whether it’s temple desecration, biased media narratives, political marginalization, or international Hinduphobia, we will speak. We will analyze. We will stand.

Dharmo rakṣati rakṣitaḥ

Let this platform be the flame that rekindles awareness, unity, and righteous pride in our identity. Because when Dharma is protected, Dharma protects in return — “Dharmo rakṣati rakṣitaḥ.”

🕉️ Jai Shri Ram. Jai Sanatan Dharma. Jai Mauritius.
