The Medical community is in a state of shock after learning the news first thing in the morning today… Dr Rajend Jeetun passed away. A 63 years old Orthopedic Surgeon was Head of the Department of Orthopedics at Victoria Hospital. He was declared dead at SAJ Hospital today morning, just few hours after he was found severely injured in his car near Bel Etang Flacq.
Bewilderment
Besides grief, the friends and colleagues of Dr Rajend Jeetun are in complete bewilderment.
One of his colleagues, a consultant at JNH says his driving skills were first class and would never exceed speed limits or even break road traffic rules. Then what happened this morning?
The big question on everybody’s lips and mind- what could have happened? The answer we shall have to wait for quite some time, im afraid, as the authorities have no clue till now surrounding the death of this very responsible doctor.
Tributes to Dr Rajend Jeetun
Meanwhile his close friends and colleagues wish to pay tribute to this incredible doctor. Dr Rajend Jeetun completed his medical studies at SMS Medical College Jaipur in year 1997 and returned to mauritius where he started practising his passion with upmost dedication. He has worked in most hospitals of Mauritius including J.Nehru Hospital, Flacq Hospital, SSSRN Hospital. He was lately the consultant in charge at Victoria Hospital.
Dr Rajend Jeetun, A true Dharmic
He has always helped his fellow colleagues and has been involved in various social works where he helped the poor. Dr Rajend Jeetun was a true Sanatani who always had his Hindu Dharma at heart and practised it with most enthusiasm. He was a fan of bollywood since college days and his hobby was gardening. Infact he would, very often, share his harvests with his colleagues at work.
Hard-working, down to earth, dedicated, humble and diligent, we have lost a great doctor and an even greater human being.On behalf of whole medical fraternity, we wish his family sincere sympathies.
