Anglo-Persian Oil Company a subsidiary of Burmah Oil (British Petroleum) discovers oil in Persia (Iran), that time Persia was ruled by Qajar dynasty and Ahmad Shah Qajar was King of Persia.Britishers wanted to control these Oil fields.

Persia became weak after WW1. A military officer Reza Khan who was trained by Russian officers led a coup with support of British officials.
1925
By help of Britishers Reza Khan dethrone Qajar dynasty and declare himself King of Persia.
1935
Reza Khan changes the name of Persia to Iran. The word “Iran” comes from the ancient term “Aryānām”, meaning “Land of the Aryans.”
Irani consider themselves Aryans.
This Aryan ideology of Reza Khan brings him closer to Hitler and Iran starts siding with Germany.

British don’t like it since Iran was very imp for them in WW2 for oil supply so British and Russia carry out a joint operation and removes him rom throne and instate his son Mohammad Reza Pahlavi in power who was Pro British.

But he spread his message through tapes and literature. Finally an Islamic revolution happens in Iran and Mohammad Reza Pahlavi is removed and Khomeini becomes Supreme leader of Iran.
He declares Iran and Islamic country and implement Sharia in Iran.
1979-2000 : Hostility

Iraq which is neighbor of Iran is a Shia majority country but lead by a Sunni leader Saddam Hussain. He feels same regime change in his country and attacks on Iran

Though Khomeini was Shia leader but he finds most o Sunni countries like Saudi Arabia, UAE, Turkey, Qatar, Iraq, Pakistan are in lap of USA
Khomeini sees opportunity to become undisputed leader of Islamic world so he starts supporting Palestine struggle though.
