Disrespect to Raksha Sutra. It has come to our attention that during a recent drill competition at the SSU in Line Barracks, a deeply concerning incident occurred where three non-Hindu officers deliberately cut the sacred thread (Raksha Sutra) worn by Hindu officers.
This act is highly disrespectful, not only to the individuals affected but also to the Hindu faith, its sacred traditions, and the values of mutual respect and harmony that our multicultural nation upholds. The Raksha Sutra is a sacred symbol of protection, faith, and divine connection — and tampering with it is a direct insult to religious sentiments.
Such actions have no place in a disciplined force that stands for unity, respect, and equality among officers of all beliefs. We call for the disrespect to Raksha Sutra to be thoroughly investigated, and for appropriate disciplinary measures to be taken against those responsible.
Let this incident serve as a reminder that religious tolerance and mutual respect are the cornerstones of our national identity. No officer, regardless of faith, should ever feel humiliated for practicing their religion.
